Japanese PM Shinzo Abe and Canadian PM Trudeau held a joint press conference after their meeting in Ottawa on the 28th. Abe pointed out that the WTO needs to play its role in resolving disputes. Abe intends to discuss the reform of the WTO at the G20 summit in Osaka in June. This meeting is a result from WTO upholding South Korea ban on some Japan seafood imports over Fukushima nuclear disaster. The ruling process has also attracted many opinions from other countries. Japan hopes to change the procedural issues of the WTO in adjudicating disputes through the strength of others.
