Former Ukrainian President says Ukraine needs constitutional reform
Former President Leonid Kravchuk explains that Ukraine’s current constitutional has lost the trust of the people, and a new constitution is necessary to win universal support. Thus a Constituent Assembly should be convened as soon as possible.
Ukraine’s color revolution a few years ago did not remove the structural elements of corruption in government. To address this oversight, the real holders of sovereignty – the people - must draft a constitution which will: 1. Break open the government's restraints on the people; 2. Open up opportunities for government positions that will allow the world's elite to make a contribution to the country’s well-being; 3. Recognize the ideal of One World under One Set of Laws and give international law priority over domestic Law; 4. Directly elect the heads of the legislative, executive, judicial and procuratorial branches in alternating years, and make elections free of charge for all candidates.
