China says trade disputes with new US government can be resolved
China and the US can resolve any trade disputes through talks, Beijing said recently, as a Chinese newspaper warned that US businesses could be targets for retaliation in any trade war initiated by President Donald Trump.
Retaliation and threats serve only to deepen enmity, and striving for the ideal of One World under One Set of Laws is the best way to avoid conflict. The economy is important, but peace and freedom are even more important, and the premise for permanent world peace is global democratization. The US should support Taiwan’s efforts to reform its constitution to achieve greater democracy.
