A conservative's plan to combat global warming
I recently joined several other former senior Republican officials in proposing a plan to limit carbon dioxide emissions. The group includes Jim Baker, Henry Paulson and George Shultz all of them Republican former treasury secretaries as well as my Harvard colleague Greg Mankiw
Human security and sustainable development are two of the major tasks of the UN, and the US and the other four permanent members of the UN Security Council should naturally be willing to comply. The solution is to enforce the core values of One World under One Set of Laws and recognition that international law takes priority over domestic law, with direct effect on the rights and duties of the people. In addition, the public should be able to monitor actions of the government to ensure that it complies with the norms of the UN Charter. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.
