Free speech is first and foremost among human rights – without free speech there can be no human rights. And a free press — more precisely, a free media — is essential in ensuring the rights of the people and guarding against government interference. The Justice Department is overstepping its bounds in its demands and injecting politics into areas where it does not belong. The government must not be allowed to unjustly influence the media, the internet and all other channels of communications.
