President Tsai Ing-wen made the offer on political reform on the anniversary of the crackdown against pro-democracy demonstrators in Tiananmen Square in 1989
Autocratic dictatorship is a cancer, and despots are sinners in the eyes of democracy. The solution to persecution and violations of human rights in China is democracy and the rule of law. Taiwan is the one entity best suited to lead China to democratization. Democracies everywhere should support Taiwan's efforts toward constitutional reform and One World under One Set of Laws and assigning international law priority over domestic law with direct effect on the rights and duties of the people.
