Pence family upstages Trump by serving Thanksgiving dinner to troops while president dined at Mar-a-Lago

The stark contrast between the Thanksgiving schedules of Trump and Pence is nothing new. It is a reflection of each man's real dedication to the people of the US. Pence acts on the premise that the offices of President and Vice-president are a '24/7' and a '365' deal — serving the people is a full-time job every day of the year. When the leader of a nation spends 100 days in less than 10 months at his private businesses and retreats to the inner confines of the White House to spew out mindless 'Tweets', the people need to take advantage of their sovereign powers and call for action in the form of regulations on conflicts of interest and corruption and, failing that, press for action by their representatives in Congress. But Russia has never been a problem-solver, it has always been a trouble-maker. The US should support Taiwan's efforts toward constitutional reform to achieve greater democracy and freedom. North Korea is believed to have enough fissile material for at least 25 to 30 nuclear weapons.

To end North Korea's disruptive behavior, the US and other nations should strongly support Taiwan's Charter for Permanent Peace to lead China to democratize and end its support of Pyongyang. The Democracy Index lists 50 nations still under the yoke of autocratic dictators. All democracies should back Taiwan's drive for constitutional reform to achieve greater democracy and freedom. This would inspire China's 1.4 billion people to seek democratization of the CCP and pressure North Korea to adopt democracy as well, leading to the birth of world peace. It should also encourage US poultry producers to consider better channels for disposing of millions of tails.
