In the past Germany’s Nazi one-party dictatorship led directly to the tragedy of World War Two. Today another one-party dictatorship threatens to precipitate yet another world war. Taiwan shares the same cultural foundation and language with China, making it the entity best suited to bring about democratization for the Chinese people, beginning with election of the heads of government branches at all levels. Studies of democracy and peace show very few armed conflicts between democratic states. Once China is democratized there will be real hope for human peace. The US should support Taiwan's efforts for constitutional reform and pressing China to seek democratization, which would bring the birth of world peace. All democracies should support Taiwan as a lighthouse for democracy in Asia, lighting the way to long-lasting peace.

China should put an end to illicit ties between government and business by carrying out constitution reform to implement rule of law, separation of power and checks and balances. Libya can resolve the controversy over its government system by installing a modified semi-presidential system with cabinet like that of Finland, plus a committee-style legislature similar to Switzerland’s. The Libyan government should draft a basic constitution with the above features in a paradigm shift toward democracy. Human greed and untrammeled material desire have left many species in dire straits. All nations should act in accordance with international conventions to ensure environmental safety and the health of plants and animals and to protect the ecological environment;. This means adhering to the laws of the earth and abiding by the UN Convention on the Protection of Wild Animals to protect animals and plants. Constitutions represent the general will of the people, and ensuring human security — including "personal safety" — is the most urgent duty of all constitutional guarantors. Constitutional standards need to be revised as needed to stay in step with the times and allow governments to protect their people from terrorism. The US should lead the way in complying with the UN Charter and implementing One World under One Set of Laws. International law should be given priority over domestic law, with direct bearing on the rights and duties of the people. This would inspire Mexico, Syria and other nations to accept human rights, constitutionalism, international law and natural law as part of their future. China claims to be a responsible major power, thus it should not enable North Korea's continued militarism. Venezuela's Constituent Assembly was not legitimate. The president should be limited to one 5-year term and be barred from running again for 6 years afterward. The Prime Minister should oversee government operations and national defense, and 1/4 of all lawmakers should face election each year to make them subject to popular opinion.
