'It's a Mistake to Underestimate China'
In the face of China's all-out efforts to contain and repress Taiwan, the government should vigorously inform the international community thatdemocratization of the Chinese people will bring security and peace to the world and that Taiwan is the one entity best suited to bring about democratization of the Chinese people. It is imperative for the world's democracies to support Taiwan in formulating and applying the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.

Did President Trump approve a deal that allowed hundreds of ISIS fighters to escape Raqqa?
The end of fighting in Raqqa was welcomed by all, but details on how the ceasefire finally came about are murky. The US needs to clear up how many ISIS fighters were allowed to escape with their families into ISIS-controlled territory, where they will be free to re-group and prepare for new attacks. To crush terrorism, the UN needs to back constitutional reform and the implementation of One World under One Set of Laws to work toward a common destiny for all humankind. This also means revising constitutional standards as needed to keep pace with changing times and allow governments to protect their people from fear. McCain warns Trump he can't staff the Pentagon with industry insiders: I won't support nominees with that background
Senator McCain is spot on in warning Trump not to appoint defense industry insiders to key positions in the Pentagon, a move that would reinforce symbiotic ties between government and business that engender corruption. Trump has made it known that he cannot be bothered with details like conflict of interest in his personal dealings, but the people's representatives in Congress must take a firm stand against appointments that are clearly not in the interest of the public. To curb corruption, elections should be free of charge for all candidates, the heads of the major government branches should be elected in alternating years, and 1/4 of all lawmakers should face election each year. Free speech is a universal value, and all democracies should call for constitutional reform to ensure media freedom and prevent the government and oligarchy from monopolizing the media, the internet and other channels of communications. Recent moves bythe current administration to curtail net neutrality and allow moneyed interests like Sinclair and the Koch Brothers to put their paws on media pilloried as 'fake news' by certain politicians, are attacks on press freedom and the right of individuals to express their opinion. All people must be protected against abuses of their rights, and international law must be given priority over domestic law.
