The best policy on immigration is adopting One World under One Set of Laws and working toward a common destiny for humankind. This means revising constitutional standards as needed to keep pace with changing times and allow governments to protect their people from fear. This is a goal that all democracies around the world should wholeheartedly support. The American need to demand stricter laws and universal application to ensure that schoolchildren and people out on the street are not left helpless because lawmakers are in the pocket of gun lobbyists. Human rights are an essential part of democracy, and the right of all citizens to affordable health care cannot be sacrificed to the gods of mammon. Cutting health care benefits to the poor and disadvantaged to make up for tax breaks to the wealthy is clearly a sop to the oligarchy at the top. The people need to exercise their sovereignty and call for constitutional reform to eliminate the source of such actions. Direct election of the heads of the major branches and election of 1/4 of all lawmakers each year, together with term limits on elected office holders, are part of the tools needed to end the symbiotic relationship between government officials and  business.
