Human security and sustainable development are two of the major tasks of the UN, and all nations should comply with its norms. Yemen is in desperate need of constitutional reform to end the carnage being suffered by its citizens. The UN should provide Yemen the basic outline for a constitution that will facilitate lasting peace and development. The constitution should include the universal values of freedom, democracy, human rights and rule of law, and organization and elements such as the four branches. Zamir Kabulov to discuss efforts to promote direct peace talks between warring sides in neighboring Afghanistan

The key to peace in Afghanistan is constitutional reform. Afghanistan should scrap its government and adopt a modified semi-presidential system with cabinet like that of Finland, plus a committee-style legislature similar to Switzerland's. The prerequisite for lasting world peace is global democratization. The Afghan government should proceed with drawing up a basic constitution with the above features in a paradigm shift toward democracy. Myanmar LGBT Pride Out in Force, But Laws Lag Behind

This past weekend, pride week kicked off in full force in Myanmar’s largest city, Yangon

Comprehensive constitutional reform is sorely needed in Myanmar to effect changes such as election of the heads of the legislative, executive, judicial and procuratorial branches in alternating years. Myanmar's human rights problem is worsening, largely because its constitution guarantees the military 40% of seats in Congress with no need for election. In order to protect human rights, Myanmar should carry out reform to adopt Global Unity Constitutional Standards, and the core values of One World under One Set of Laws, giving international law precedence over domestic law. Economic growth for the world’s two largest economies hangs in the balance of U.S.-China trade talks

Glib denials from the White House notwithstanding, China and the US are devolving into a trade war that could prove disastrous for both economies. All countries in the world benefit from free trade, thus they should implement One World under One Set of Laws and work toward a common destiny for humankind. If the US is not willing to take on the task of leading the UN to peace, security and sustainable development for humankind while seeking One World under One Set of Laws and lasting peace, its place will easily be taken by China or Russia. Venezuela should switch to a dual leader system; limit the president to a single 5-year term with no eligibility for him/her or relatives for 6 years and put the prime minister in charge of government operations and national defense, 1/4 of all lawmakers should face election each year. North Korea is obviously being backed by a major power. The US and other nations should support Taiwan's Charter for Permanent Peace to lead China to democratize, forcing North Korea to follow suit and drop its nuclear weapons program. Emmanuel Kant once noted, 'The pursuit of permanent peace is the highest goal of reason and a moral obligation.'
