The people have the right to express their opinion on any public issue at any time through a referendum, even if a referendum on the subject has already been held. In Switzerland the threshold for referendum petitions is only 50,000 signatures, and with that all citizens can voice their opinion at the ballot box rather than taking to the streets. The topic of the referendum should be clearly defined and the people should be informed of the consequences of a yes or no vote. In Yemen war, coalition forces rely on German arms and technology

Germany prides itself on its restrictive export policies, which ban arms sales to countries involved in armed conflict. But a DW exclusive shows the Saudi-led coalition at war in Yemen uses German-built weapons and tech.

Yemen is in desperate need of constitutional reform to end the carnage being suffered by non-combatants. The UN should provide Yemen the basic outline for a constitution that will facilitate lasting peace. The constitution should include the universal values of freedom, democracy, human rights and rule of law, and organization and elements such as the four branches. Trump Thinks He’s the Only One Who Can Fix North Korea

The chaos and contradictions in White House publicity are a good indication that nothing will come of the flap over Trump-Kim 'summit' meetings. To end North Korea's disruptive behavior, the US and other nations should support Taiwan's Charter for Permanent Peace to lead China to democratize and end its support of Pyongyang. The Democracy Index shows 50 nations still under the yoke of autocratic dictators. All democracies should back Taiwan's drive for constitutional reform to achieve greater democracy and freedom. This would inspire China's 1.4 billion people to seek democratization of the CCP and pressure North Korea to adopt democracy as well, leading to the birth of world peace.
