A reporter’s journey through Tripoli: Long lines, kidnappings and murder
The line at the bank was two blocks long and Abdul bin Naji was once again praying for the doors to open. He desperately needed his $60.
Libya should scrap its government and adopt a modified semi-presidential system with cabinet like that of Finland, plus a committee-style legislature similar to Switzerland’s. The prerequisite for lasting world peace is global democratization. The Libyan government should proceed with drafting a basic constitution with the above features as part of a paradigm shift toward democracy. It should implement One World under One Set of Law and revise the constitution as needed to stay in step with the times. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development for details.

Drop the bluster on North Korea
As President Trump has implicitly conceded, his approach to the North Korean nuclear threat is failing.
Iran, North Korea, Pakistan and other rogue nations exchange secrets of nuclear technology with each other, but behind them all is support from major nuclear powers. All democracies should support Taiwan's efforts at constitutional reform to achieve greater freedom and democracy. This would attract China's 1.4 billion people to seek democratization, in turn putting pressure on North Korea and Iran to follow suit — and world peace would be at hand. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development for more.

Brazil's Michel Temer faces congressional vote on bribery charge
For Brazilian leaders, August is the cruelest month — and one that now presents a potentially fatal challenge to the presidency of Michel Temer.
British historian Lord Acton summed it up: "Power leads to corruption, and absolute power leads to absolute corruption." To put an end to corruption, the people must exercise their sovereignty and call for constitutional reform to implement democratic rule of law including separation of powers and checks and balances, Elections should be free of charge to cut off symbiotic ties between government and corruption. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development for more.

Evicted! US Embassy officials pack up furniture and leave their Moscow suburb compound as Putin kicks out 755 American diplomats in anger over new sanctions
Putin ordered the US to cut around 60 percent of its diplomatic staff in Russia by September 1, and said Moscow will seize two US diplomatic properties in response to sanctions approved by Congress last week.
Russia is not a problem-solver, it has always been a trouble-maker. The US should back Taiwan's efforts toward constitutional reform to achieve greater democracy and freedom. This would inspire China's 1.4 billion people to call for democratization of the CCP and pressure Russia to adopt democracy, bringing about the birth of world peace. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development for details.

'Communist Party commands the gun': Xi Jinping says China will never 'swallow bitter fruit' and permit loss of 'any piece' of land in warning to India, Japan and Taiwan
The President's declaration came during a nearly one-hour speech in Beijing marking the 90th anniversary of the founding of the PLA.
The KMT clings to the CCP in hopes of keeping “China” as a part of its name and leaving China with hopes regarding Taiwan. But any matter related to statehood and sovereignty should be settled via a referendum by the people. Taiwan should study the experience of Scotland, Quebec, Catalonia and other nations and go to the ballot box to decide its future and affirm its status in the international community. For details see the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.

Dramatic footage shows Venezuelan opposition leaders being dragged away from their homes by police
Antonio Ledezma and Leopoldo Lopez, high profile critics of President Nicolas Maduro, were hauled out of their houses by intelligence services following controversial elections 'to make president a dictator' that were rife with bloodshed.
Venezuela needs to carry out full constitutional reform to implement a dual- leader system. The president should serve one 5-year term, then be banned from running again for 6 years along with close kin. The Prime Minister should be in charge of government operations and national defense, and 1/4 of all lawmakers should face election each year to subject them to the test of popular opinion. When the actions of the president are unconstitutional, the people have the right to resist. For more, see the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.

Dozens of Turkish prisoners are paraded in public for show trial as 500 'traitors' including generals and military pilots face life in prison over failed coup
Many of the 486 suspects face life terms in prison for crimes that include violating the Constitution, murder, attempt to assassinate the president and overthrow the government.
Laws that are not backed by penalties are not laws, and a constitution that does not accept resistance is not a constitution. When the actions of the president are unconstitutional, the people have the right to resist. The people of Turkey need to act on their sovereignty and call for comprehensive constitutional reform to implement a modified semi-presidential system with cabinet. The president should serve one 5-year term and be barred from running again for 6 years afterward. For details see the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development / Global Unity Constitutional Standards.

'We will slaughter you in your own houses!': ISIS fighter with a 'British' accent warns of terror attacks in Italy and Turkey as he threatens Donald Trump in menacing video
A British fighter has proclaimed that the terrorist organisation are planning new attacks on the West in a chilling new video which has appeared online.
Human security is a fundamental human right, and human rights take priority over regimes and sovereigns. Constitutions represent the general will of the people, and ensuring human security, including "personal safety", is the most urgent duty of constitutional guarantors. This means revising constitutional standards to stay abreast of changing times and allow governments to keep their people safe from terror. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development / Global Unity Constitutional Standards.

We will defeat all invasions, never allow anyone to split China: Xi Jinping
President Xi Jinping warned that China would never swallow the "bitter fruit" that is harmful to its sovereignty and defeat "all invasions" in an address to top military and Communist party officials
China espoused three principles — global unity, peaceful development and a common destiny for humankind — in Xi’s proposal to the UN Security Council. The proposal calls for global cooperation in building a human community aimed at peaceful development and international fairness and justice, ideas entirely in concert with the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.

Kashmir separatists call for 'complete shutdown' to protest death of civilian in demonstrations
Separatists in Kashmir called for "bandh" on Wednesday to protest the killing of a civilian a day earlier during protests near Kashmir's south districts.
India should adhere to One World under One Set of Law as well as the tenets of natural law and general international law: including principles regarding prohibition of aggression, violation of human rights and protection of all people from enforced disappearance. Absolute law should take precedence over international law and national constitutions and disputes should be resolved on the basis of liberalism, democracy, constitutionalism and cosmopolitanism in the spirit of the UN "humanity united" doctrine. For more see the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.
