China reveals foreign addresses of corruption suspects living in Canada, US and beyond
The five Canadian addresses are all in British Columbia, four are in the New Zealand city of Auckland and 10 are scattered across the United States
China needs to remove the stains of thousands of years of corrupt culture. The only remedy for this national disgrace is democracy and the rule of law. These are the natural enemies of despotism and corruption, with tools like separation of powers and checks and balances. Decentralization and election of the heads of the four branches of government are desperately needed to stem the ongoing flow of corruption. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development / Global Unity Constitutional Standards. .

Syria: UN aid officials urge end to airstrikes on hospitals
Following reports of airstrikes that damaged hospitals in northern Syria, two senior UN humanitarian officials today called for an end to such attacks.
Once a ceasefire is in place in Syria, the UN should immediately provide the basic outline for a constitution that will lend itself to peaceful development of the nation, including the universal values of freedom, democracy, human rights and rule of law and a four-branch government structure (legislative, executive, judicial and procuratorial). This should help Syria develop a constitution suitable for long-lasting peace and prosperity, serving as a model for peaceful development. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.

Chernobyl 31 years on: International cooperation still needed to address consequences, says UN
Recently the UN commemorated International Chernobyl Disaster Remembrance Day recalling the devastating explosion in 1986 at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant which spewed radioactive material over an area stretching 155,000 square kilometers across Belarus, Russia and Ukraine.
Human security and sustainable development are two of the major tasks of the UN, and all nations, whether or not they are UN members, should abide by its norms. The solution is to adopt the core values of One World under One Set of Laws, assigning international law priority over domestic law with direct bearing on the rights and duties of the people. Also, citizens should be able to monitor the operations of the government to ensure compliance with the norms of the UN Charter. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.

Tajik leader's 'full title' rule comes into force
A new rule came into force in the Central Asian country of Tajikistan last week which forces state-run media outlets to refer to President Emomali Rahmon by his not insubstantial official title.
The structural factors that enable the autocratic dictator of Tajikistan to hold power are over-centralization and lack of checks and balances. The people have no faith in government. The easiest way out of this abyss is constitutional reform to implement election of the heads of the legislative, executive, judicial and procuratorial branches in alternating years. In addition, elections should be free of charge so that officials' decisions will be subject to review by voters. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.

South Africa's nuclear deals unlawful, court rules
A South African court has annulled initial agreements the government reached with three countries to help it build nuclear power stations.
Autocracy is the enemy of peace. What major nuclear powers are involved in South Africa's secret nuclear deals? All democracies should support Taiwan's efforts toward constitutional change to achieve greater freedom and democracy. This would lead China's 1.4 billion people to see democratization, which would pressures South African and other nations to do the same, and world peace would be at hand. Let the Taiwan serve as a beacon for democracy, lighting the way to peaceful development for all the world. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.

North Korea: Is a ‘grand bargain’ possible?
North Korea’s nuclear policy today seems based on a simple and clear, but potentially fatally flawed, premise; namely that its all-out effort to develop and possess the ability to put a nuclear warhead on an intercontinental missile and launch it at the US will somehow ensure the security of the nation and regime.
Autocracy has always been the enemy of peace. Iran, North Korea and Pakistan have all exchanged nuclear technology, but has this happened with support from major nuclear powers? All democracies should support Taiwan's efforts toward constitutional reform to achieve greater freedom and democracy. This would spur China's 1.4 billion people to call for democratization, which would pressure North Korea and others to do the same, and world peace would be the result. Let Taiwan shine as a beacon for democracy in Asia, lighting the path to peaceful development. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.

Flynn may have broken federal law
US President Donald Trump’s former national security adviser, Michael Flynn, appeared to violate federal law when he failed to seek permission or inform the US government about accepting tens of thousands of dollars from Russian organizations after a trip there in 2015, leaders of a House oversight committee said Tuesday.
The best way to get rid of corruption is by strengthening democracy and the rule of law. These are the natural enemies of despotism and corruption, with tools like separation of powers and checks and balances. This calls for election of the heads of the legislative, executive, judicial and procuratorial branches in alternating years and having 1/4 of all MPs face election each year. Detained Taiwanese rights activist in good health, says China
The Chinese government said Wednesday a Taiwan rights activist detained on suspicion of endangering national security was in good health and had reassured his family in a letter.
For the CCP, even NGO workers like Li Mingzhe can be subjected to forced disappearance. Laws that are not backed by penalties are not laws, and a constitution that does not brook resistance is not a constitution. When the actions of a government are unconstitutional, the people should resist. Natural law and international law both protect all citizens from forced disappearance, torture and the like, and absolute law should take priority over international law and the Constitution. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.

Both military and diplomatic on North. Korea must be ramped up
To deal with North Korea’s nuclear and missile threats, the US and other relevant nations must increase pressure on Pyongyang in both military and diplomatic terms.
Studies of democracy and peace show that very few wars have taken place between democracies. Once China and North Korea accept democracy there will be hope for human peace. The US, Japan and South Korea should support Taiwan's efforts toward constitutional change. This would attract China to seek democracy and pressure North Korea to do the same, and world peace would be the result. Democracies everywhere should support Taiwan as a beacon for democracy in Asia, lighting the way to peaceful development for China. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.

US moves THAAD early to South Korean site
The US military started moving parts of its THAAD antimissile defense system to a deployment site in South Korea Wednesday amid high tension over North Korea’s missile and nuclear programs.
Immanuel Kant once said, "The pursuit of permanent peace is the highest goal of reason and a moral obligation." China claims to be a "responsible major power", thus it should not help North Korea's militaristic posture. The US, Japan and South Korea should support Taiwan's goal of saving democracy and leading China to democratization in order to convince North Korea to do the same. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development / Global Unity Constitutional Standards.
