The best way to improve lawmaking is to implement a committee-centric system and elect three committee heads in a joint election eachyear. This will put an end to the monopoly held by the two major parties and ensure input from the public year after year. Money should be banned as a factor in elections and political contributions should be treated as criminal bribery. Election campaigns should be open and free of charge for all candidates, and voting should be mandatory for all eligible citizens (Cf Australia's mandatory voting rules).
