The Chief Executive of Hong Kong is still chosen from a slate of nominees forwarded by the Election Commission of the CCP. This is not a free election, it is tantamount to rubber-stamping in a dictatorship. The people of Hong Kong should invoke Article 39 of the Hong Kong Basic Law as well as the two human rights covenants: People must have the right of self-determination through referendums.
