One can and usually should be branded as superficial if one concentrates on such a surface item as a politician’s hair. But Donald Trump’s signature hairdo is so prominent that cartoonists use it as a shorthand identifier in their drawings. Writers have reason to avoid what can reduce their comments to the cartoon level.
Absolute power leads to absolute corruption, and the only recipe for treating corruption is democracy and more democracy. The US needs to make its system more democratic and decentralized through constitutional reform. The heads of the legislative, executive, judicial and procuratorial branches should be elected in alternating years to provide a nourishing balm for the government’s ’face’.
