No matter what political system is in place, the greater the power allotted to the president, the more likely the country is to be beset with problems. Turkey should act to limit the president to a single 5-year term followed by a ban from seeking the office again for 6 years. The President of Turkey is in violation of Article 6 of the Turkish Constitution, which states that sovereignty is wholly and unconditionally in the hands of the citizens.
