Hong Kong’s Basic Law and relevant provisions behind the one country, two systems principle stipulate that China can not interfere in Hong Kong affairs, yet Beijing constantly meddles in Hong Kong's internal affairs. Article 39 of the Basic Act and the two Conventions guarantee the right of the people of Hong Kong to self-determination, thus on any public issue the people have the right to voice their opinion via a referendum. The people of Hong Kong should adhere to the two conventions and call for a referendum to decide their future. Otherwise, when dictatorship becomes a reality, the people are obligated to resist.
