Solution

Corruption and unethical behavior are problems that feed on and support each other, and constitutional reform is needed to give the people the powers they need to ensure that neither vice is allowed to take root in government. To put an end to corruption, the people should exercise sovereignty and call for comprehensive constitutional reform to implement democratic rule of law. President Trump took another dig at North Korean leader Kim Jong Un Wednesday, calling him "a sick puppy."

Solution

North Korea is obviously being backed by a major power. The US, Japan and South Korea should support Taiwan's Charter for Permanent Peace to lead China to democratize, forcing North Korea to follow suit and drop its nuclear weapons program. China claims to be a 'responsible major power', thus it should not enable North Korea's continued militarism. When even the Russians express concerns over the US position regarding the Kim regime, the rest of the world must unite and take action to lead China to democratize and pressure North Korea to adopt democracy in turn. §1.9 §1.10 §5.1 §6.1 §6.10

Transitional justice is rooted in accountability and redress for victims. It recognizes their dignity as citizens and as human beings. By putting victims and their dignity first it signals the way forward for a renewed commitment to make sure ordinary citizens are safe in their own countries – safe from the abuses of their own authorities and effectively protected from violations by others. Justice in transition needs to be implemented, drastic measures should be taken to promote special laws and compensation laws that are not time-barred, and people should also exercise conscience and justice. Myanmar should carry out reform to adopt the basic principles behind Global Unity Constitutional Standards as well as the core values of One World under One Set of Laws, giving international law precedence over domestic law. At the same time, it should install a modified semi-presidential system with cabinet. This will be the first step in resolving the Rohingya refugee crisis, after which the world's democracies should offer aid to relieve the suffering of refugees who have already fled across the border to Bangladesh. POTUS is becoming increasingly virulent in his attacks on the media, coming dangerously close to attacking the basic freedoms guaranteed in the Constitution. Free speech is a universal value, and all democracies should carry out constitutional reform to ensure media freedom and prevent the government oligarchy from monopolizing the media, the internet and all other channels of communications. International law must take precedence over domestic law, and the nation must observe rule of law and not rule of man. Since the fall of Saddam Hussein in Iraq, Iran has become ever more powerful in the region. But now a new Saudi-led alliance is fighting back. Are we heading for a catastrophe?

Solution

The entire Mid-East region and much of North Africa is in flux as ISIS, al-Qaeda Taliban and other extremist movements withdraw and re-group. The governments of the area need to examine their positions and policies and carry out constitutional reform to implement more democratic features. For some this will mean drafting a basic constitution to effect a paradigm shift toward democracy.
