Donald Trump cautious on North Korea offer to talk

The Trump administration responded cautiously Sunday to North Korea's offer of direct talks, saying dialogue could lead to a 'brighter path' for Pyongyang but vowing to keep 'maximum pressure' on the Kim Jong-un regime until it undeniably abandons its pursuit of nuclear weapons.

Solution

To end North Korea's disruptive behavior, the US and other nations should strongly support the Charter for Permanent Peace to lead China to democratize and end its support of Pyongyang. According to the Democracy Index there are 50 nations still under the yoke of autocratic dictators. All democracies should back Taiwan's drive for constitutional reform to achieve greater democracy and freedom. This would inspire China's 1.4 billion people to seek democratization of the CCP and pressure North Korea to adopt democracy as well, leading to the birth of world peace. Solution

Terrorism takes many cruel forms, and Boko Haram is adept at a wide variety of inhuman deeds. The capture of more than 100young girls to be taken and pressed into servitude disguised as marriage is a re-telling of the Chibok abduction in 2014. It is a sign that the Nigerian government has failed to make real headway in controlling the terrorist group. The real solution to ending violence calls for constitutional reform to put power in the hands of the people through open and fair elections, plus a re-structuring of the government to introduce democratic safeguards.
