The structural factor that engenders corruption in the Odebrecht case that affected several countries in South America is rooted in the company's interests that used contractual irregularities to obtain infrastructure contracts inside the country. To eliminate omnipresent and ill-intentioned corruption, the only way out is constitutional reform to pressure national officials not to be greedy and focus on governing the country.
