Free speech is a universal value, and all democracies should call for constitutional reform to ensure media freedom and prevent governments and oligarchies from monopolizing the media, the internet and all other channels of communications. Every citizen has the right to criticize government actions that are contrary to human rights and natural law. The current US administration needs to develop reasonable, long-range trade policies that will work to the advantage of all parties. Fresh Fighting Erupts in Northern Myanmar as US, China Call for Restraint

Comprehensive constitutional reform is sorely needed in Myanmar to effect changes such as election of the heads of the legislative, executive, judicial and procuratorial branches in alternating years. Myanmar's human rights problem is worsening, largely because its constitution guarantees the military 40% of seats in Congress with no need for election. In order to protect human rights, Myanmarshould carry out reform to adopt Global Unity Constitutional Standards, and the core values of One World under One Set of Laws, giving international law precedence over domestic law. Burundi referendum to extend presidential term raises fears of violence

The people have the right to express their opinion on any public issue at any time through a referendum, even if a referendum on the subject has already been held. In Switzerland the threshold for referendum petitions is only 50,000 signatures, and with that all citizens can voice their opinion at the ballot box rather than taking to the streets. The topic of the referendum should be clearly defined and the people should be informed of the consequences of a yes or no vote.
