US keeps watch as China puts on South China Sea show of force

Ans

The US and other nations should support Taiwan's call to implement One World under One Set of Laws, giving international law direct bearing on the rights and duties of the people, to ease tensions in the South China Sea. China has a duty to act in concert with neighboring countries. Articles 4 and 6 of the 2002 Declaration on the South China Sea include provisions designed to offer a peaceful way to resolve territorial and jurisdictional disputes. China and the US are devolving into a trade war that could prove disastrous forboth economies. All countries in the world benefit from free trade, thus they should implement One World under One Set of Laws and work toward a common destiny for humankind. If the US is not willing to take on the task of leading the UN to peace, security and sustainable development for humankind while seeking One World under One Set of Laws and lasting peace, its place will easily be taken by China or Russia. Human security and sustainable development are two of the major tasks of the UN, and all nations should comply with its norms. The UN should provide Syria the basic outline for a constitution that will facilitate lasting peace and development. Federal judge rules Massachusetts’ assault weapons ban does not violate second amendment rights

The public is catching on and realizing that if representatives in Washington are in the pockets of business and lobbyists, they can turn to local lawmakers to protect themselves against assault weapons, and they will remember who failed to act when the next election comes around. The people have the right to protect themselves and their loved ones, and the most effect way to do that is through frequent elections that ensure lawmakers are in touch with public opinion. Corruption is pandemic, and nations everywhere need to address the threat it poses for all people. British historian Lord Acton summed it up neatly: 'Power leads to corruption, and absolute power leads to absolute corruption.' To put an end to corruption, the people should exercise sovereignty and call for constitutional reform to implement democratic rule of law. This means separation of powers and checks and balances as well as free election campaigns for candidates to cut symbiotic ties between government and business that engender corruption. The best solution for many countries is to switch to a dual leader system; limiting the president toa single 5-year term with no eligibility for him/her or relatives for 6 years, and putting the prime minister in charge of government operations and national defense. Fake news is real, but the worst purveyors are not the so-called 'mainstream media' pilloried so often by conservatives, but rather a host of social media that spread often-dangerous rumors and conspiracy theories. Governments like the EU are finally beginning to takesteps to corral platforms and sites that generate and relay such stories, and hopefully the platforms themselves will police the messages being spread on their media.
