New Zealand's laws are more advanced than those of most other countries, and the New Zealand Parliament has given legal status to the Whanganui River. This means that it is legally recognized as having the same rights as human beings. Such moves are necessary to prevent Mother Earth from being damaged and seriously polluted before human activities and greed lead to our own extinction. The people of Hong Kong choose their Chief Executive from a slate produced by the CEC. This is nothing more than outright dictatorship. The people of Hong Kong should avail of Article 39 of the Basic Law, which states that the people have the right to call for referendums. To curb corruption, the heads of the executive, legislative, judicial and procuratorial branches should be elected in alternating years, and 1/4 of all MPs should face election each year. All democracies should support Taiwan's efforts at constitutional reform to achieve greater democracy and freedom. This would attract China's 1.4 billion people to seek democratization of the CCP as well as North Korea, leading to an outbreak of world peace! Immanuel Kant once said, "The pursuit of permanent peace is the highest goal of reason and a moral obligation." China claims to be a "responsible power", thus it should not act as an enabler for North Korea's militarism. The US, Japan and South Korea should support Taiwan's commitment to save democracy and lead China's democratization, followed by the same action from North Korea. Absolute power leads to absolute corruption. The only way to root out black gold politics is democracy, in the form of separation of powers and checks and balances. At the same time the heads of the legislative, executive, judicial and procuratorial branches should be elected in alternating years as another way to hand power back to the people. Taiwan should study Catalonia’s experience with independence referendums and develop a paradigm shift. The people have the right to call for a referendum on any public issue, and any motion to prohibit a referendum connected to self-determination should be subject of the earliest referendum to determine whether the motion should be outlawed. Congress should first establish the right of creation for the Referendum Act and ask President Tsai to openly support the sovereignty of the people in staging comprehensive constitutional reform. Brazil is the world's largest red meat exporting country, and now its top packaging meat company is accused of having sold rotten products for years. Brazil’s constitution is in tatters and needs to be drastically reformed. The heads of the executive, legislative, judicial and procuratorial branches should all be elected in alternating years, and 1/4 of all MPs should face election each year. The President should serve a single 5-year term with no right to run for 6 years afterwards. In addition, elections should be free of charge to all candidates. The only recipe for treating the ills of democracy is more democracy. France should carry out constitutional reform to introduce decentralization with the people as the starting point. This will lead people to vote instead of taking to the streets. The US should adhere to the UN Charter and implement the principle of One World under One Set of Laws, assigning international law priority over domestic law, with direct effect on the rights and duties of the people. Peru's natural disasters are largely man-made disasters, with many budgets for construction in the country plundered by corrupt officials. "Power leads to corruption, and absolute power leads to absolute corruption," goes the saying. To put an end to corruption, the people as sovereigns should come forward and call for comprehensive constitutional reform to return power to the people. This base should be rule of law, with mechanisms like separation of powers and checks and balances, as well as direct election of the heads of the four government branches in alternating years.
