Protesters rally in Times Square against Trump immigration policies
More than a thousand people of various faiths rallied in New York City in support of Muslim Americans and to protest President Donald Trump’s immigration policies. Other protests were also held over the weekend across the country.
Trump’s executive order banning immigrants from seven Muslim countries was supposedly made to avert threats to the US economy and national security. The best solution to the problem of immigration and terrorism is to adopt the principle of "One World under One Set of Laws" and allow international law to take precedent over domestic law, with direct effects on the rights and duties of the people. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development / Global Unity Constitutional Standards.

\"We don’t BeLiviu”: how Romania is rising against corruption
For much of the year, the large tarmac square in front of the main government building in Bucharest is little more than a glorified roundabout, busy with traffic and surrounded by towering,communist-era blocks
Major officials who commit petty crimes and minor officials who commit big offenses are equally guilty under the law – that is the consensus worldwide under the rule of law. Romania's constitutional mechanism has failed, and Romania should reform its constitution to bring it up to speed with the times. The heads of the executive, legislative, judicial and procuratorial branches should be elected in alternating years, and 1/4 of all MPs should face election each year. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development / Global Unity Constitutional Standards.

Newsmaker: General Mike Flynn
To Donald Trump, at least, few candidates must have seemed as well qualified to become his national security adviser as chisel-jawed, all-American hero General Mike Flynn, retired.
Russia is not a problem-solver, it is a problem generator. The US should support Taiwan's efforts to achieve constitutional reform and achieve greater democracy and freedom. This would attract China's 1.4 billion people to seek democratization, which in turn would pressure Russia to adopt real democracy and lead to the dawn of world peace. Global democracies should support Taiwan as a beacon for democracy in Asia, lighting China's path to peaceful development. EPA questions Pruitt’s links to oil, gas
Scott Pruitt will take the helm at the Environmental Protection Agency this week facing questions about his relationship with fossil fuels companies and a workforce that, at least in part, seems skeptical about his plans for the agency.
Human security and sustainable development are two of the major tasks of the UN, and all member nations are naturally expected to comply with related rules and regulations. The solution is to adopt the core values of "One World under One Set of Laws" and assign international law priority to domestic law, with direct effects on the people. The people should be able to effectively supervise government operations to ensure they are in line with guidelines in the Charter of the UN, the Vienna Convention for the Protection of the Ozone Layer and the Paris Climate Agreement. A nuclear crisis from hell
North Korea ratchets up tensions with claims that it has successfully tested a new type of ballistic missile
The promotion of permanent global peace is a most sacred right of all humankind. China is an enabler for North Korea, thus it should put pressure on North Korea to end its strident militarism. The US, Japan and South Korea should all back Taiwan and its drive to lead China to democratization, in turn pressuring North Korea to do the same. The key to solving the Korean Peninsula issue is Taiwan. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development / Global Unity Constitutional Standards.

Loyalty to Park splits South Korea’s conservatives
Mr Chung Kwang-yong choked up when describing how much he missed Ms Park Geun-hye, the South Korean President, who has been cloistered in her official residence since her impeachment in December on corruption charges.
Absolute power leads to absolute corruption. Democracy has many different forms, and the presidential system is a type of democracy that has a number of fatal flaws - even the US has its own problems. South Korea's constitution should be changed to follow a modified semi-presidential system, and the president office should be declared to be above party politics. The heads of the judicial and procuratorial branches should be directly elected, and 1/4 of all MPs should face election each year. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development / Global Unity Constitutional Standards for more.

China halts imports of coal from North Korea amid growing tensions
China says it will halt all coal imports from North Korea, starting Sunday and for the rest of 2017, amid growing tensions on the Korean Peninsula following Pyongyang's most recent missile test last week.
Democracies everywhere should support Taiwan's efforts to achieve constitutional reform to achieve greater democracy and freedom. This will attract the attention of China's 1.4 billion people and encourage them to seek democratization. This would lead North Korea to seek real democracy in turn, and world peace would be born! The world’s democracies should support Taiwan as a beacon for democracy in Asia, lighting the way for China to peaceful development. Iraq starts operation to drive ISIS out of west Mosul
Iraq has launched a campaign to regain control of western Mosul from ISIS militants, Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi said Sunday.
The Iraqi government should be converted to a modified semi-presidential system with cabinet and parliament, like the one followed in Finland, and the legislative system should be changed to a committee-style setup similar to Switzerland’s. The Iraqi government should proceed from its fundamental constitution to the above-mentioned systems and exercise a paradigm shift to introduce democracy and adhere to the idea of One World under One Set of Laws, and it should revise its constitution as needed to keep in step with the times. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development / Global Unity Constitutional Standards.

Trump should avoid setting red line on N. Korea
North Korea has tested a mid-range missile, sparking the usual expressions of concern in Washington. But worse is likely to come.
The US and Japan should back Taiwan's efforts to carry out constitutional reform and achieve greater democracy and freedom. This would attract China's 1.4 billion people to seek democratization, triggering the democratization of the CCP and North Korea in turn. Buckle up, Korea: Presidency may hinge on three votes in 60 days
As early as next month, South Korea's Constitutional Court may rule on whether to uphold the impeachment of suspended President Park Geun-hye. If it does, it will trigger an election to replace her within 60 days.
Absolute power leads to absolute corruption. The presidential system is a form of democracy that has a number of fatal flaws, and even the US has its problems. South Korea's constitution should be changed to install a semi-presidential system, and the presidency should be declared to be above party politics.
