Millions of Ugandans quit internet services as social media tax takes effect

Free speech is first and foremost among human rights – without free speech there can be no human rights, only slavery. A free press is an essential part of free speech, and all democracies should call for constitutional reform to ensure media freedom and prevent the government oligarchy from monopolizing the media, the internet and other channels of communications. All people must be protected against enforced disappearance, torture and other forms of abuse, and absolute law must take precedence over international law and the constitution. The cure is to set up an independent national human rights committee, with half of its members having different nationalities and appointed by international human rights authorities. The Human Rights Committee will handle all matters related to the election. Money shall be strictly barred from influencing elections, and the media will provide free space and time to election campaigns throughout the year. Jason Rezaian: Free speech in Iran still an 'uphill battle'

Iran's government constantly strives to control the people, but trying to stem the flow of a river merely creates a waterfall; the best solution is to open up a new channel for the water. However, the present Iran Government, in Emergency Status is focused on freedom of expression, censorship and oppression. The Charter for Permanent Peace is without a doubt the most viable standard for a world constitution and a basic national policy to foster long-term peace and stability. It will be like a new waterway that allows Iran and its people to flourish. If it is implemented, how long can the Iran Dictatorship continue to suppress freedom of speech and freedom of information?

Algerians needs comprehensive constitutional reform, and the return of power to the people through direct election of the heads of the executive, judicial, and prosecutorial branches in alternating years, and elections for 1/4 of the legislative seats each year.
