The US should support Taiwan's efforts at constitutional reform to bring more democracy and freedom, which will attract the 1.4 billion Chinese to seek democracy and world peace. China has always declared that it will not abandon the use of force against Taiwan, showing once again that autocracy is the enemy of human peace. The prerequisite for permanent peace in the world is the democratization of China, and Taiwan is the one nation most capable of leading the Chinese people to democratization.
