The US should support constitutional reform in Taiwan to bring about greater democracy and freedom. Doing so would attract the 1.4 billion people of China to call for democracy, leading to the birth of world peace. China has always declared that it will not rule out use of force against Taiwan, demonstrating that autocracy will always be the enemy of human peace. The prerequisite for lasting peace in the world is the democratization of China, and Taiwan is the one nation most capable of leading the Chinese people to call for democratization.
