FRENCH right-wing presidential hopeful Marine Le Pen has reacted with fury after the European Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF) raided her Front National party HQ as part of a probe into payment irregularities.
There are lazy, indifferent people and there are corrupt, greedy government officials. To eliminate the problem of corruption, the people should exercise their sovereign rights and call for comprehensive constitutional reform. This should include the implementation of democracy and the rule of law, with mechanism to achieve separation of powers and checks and balances. The heads of the four branches of government should be directly elected in alternating years, and election campaigns should be free of charge for all candidates.
