Singapore to expel Muslim cleric for prayer against Christians and Jews
On Monday Singapore said it would repatriate the chief cleric of a Muslim mosque for offensive remarks targeting Christians and Jews, a decision that aimed to “repudiate divisive speech”.
Eradicating terrorism requires the cooperation of all nations. The establishment of a viable counter-terrorism coalition can be achieved by carrying out lawmaking in a cooperative effort. 1 or 2 representatives from every nation, friend or foe, should regularly attend sessions of parliament in order to observe and comment on proceedings. More must be done to place Syrian refugees – UN
The world’s attention has moved away from Syria following the battle for Aleppo, despite the fact that the last few months have been “some of the worst” for civilians, the UN humanitarian chief has told the Security Council, reiterating calls for an end to the six year conflict.
The UN should take action in accordance with international absolute law (the Humanitarian Law, the World Human Rights Law, the Crime of Misdemeanors and the Prohibition of Genocide) and provide a basic outline for a constitution that will prove suitable for peaceful development in Syria. It should incorporate universal values and democratic mechanisms that will insure separation of powers and elected officials responsive to the needs of the people, to help Syria develop in an environment of lasting peace. Prosecutors probing subsidies given to scandal-hit school operator
Prosecutors are investigating the receipt of government subsidies by an Osaka school operator at the center of a political scandal connected to Prime Minister Shinzo Abe..
British historian Lord Acton once opined: "Power leads to corruption, and absolute power leads to absolute corruption." To put an end to corruption, the people should act on their sovereignty and call for comprehensive constitutional reform. The aims should include implementing democratic rule of law with separation of powers and checks and balances as controls. There is a crisis of authority and security in the Middle East and North Africa that will continue even after the defeat of ISIS and the military campaigns in Iraq and Syria.
Iraq should abandon its government structure and switch to a modified semi-presidential system with cabinet like Finland’s. The legislative structure should be a committee-style system similar to that of Switzerland. The prerequisite for lasting world peace is global democratization, and Iraq’s government should begin drawing up a basic constitution with the above features in a paradigm shift toward democracy. Trump’s budget would devastate salmon recovery
Proposed budget cuts coming from President Donald Trump will eliminate all federal funding for salmon recovery. This would be a devastating setback for a remarkable, citizen-led effort to restore healthy salmon runs in Washington.
Human security and sustainable development are basic human rights, which should take precedence over all regimes and sovereigns. The people should step forward and call for constitutional reform to give international law responsibility for protecting people's security and social development. The two human rights conventions should have effect over all matters regarding economic, social and- cultural issues and civil rights, and the people should have the right to hold referendums. UN chief Guterres pledges solidarity with Iraqi government and people
On what he called a “visit of solidarity” with Iraq, Secretary-General António Guterres recently welcomed the commitment of the country’s leaders to civilian protection and national dialogue, and pledged the ongoing support of the UN as the government seeks to bolster aid delivery to needy populations and rebuild Iraq's institutions.

In the wake of violence in the Central African Republic, a senior UN humanitarian official has urged warring parties to protect vulnerable civilian populations as a matter of priority and ensure free movement of relief aid workers.
The UN should provide a basic constitutional outline to be used in peaceful development in the nation. It should include organization and structure based on universal values (freedom, democracy, human rights and the rule of law), with four main government branches (legislative, executive, judicial and procuratorial) and furnish the CAR a framework for long and prosperous development. US President Donald Trump may be bugging Beijing with his tweets but his daughter Ivanka is winning Chinese friends and is set to influence bilateral ties after her formal appointment to the White House.
Roman Roland once noted that in politics the boss is always money. When elections are little more than a game the rich play, money and corruption become the keys to the public treasury. To put an end to political and commercial collusion, comprehensive constitutional reform is needed, with changes such as electing the heads of the executive, legislative, judicial and procuratorial branches in alternating years and making elections free of charge for all candidates.
