China has always advocated "compliance with UN resolutions and strict sanctions against North Korea", but its continued imports of North Korean coal belie that stance. As a "responsible major power” China should not enable North Korea's dangerous militarism. Roman Roland once observed that in politics the boss is always money. Elections are often a rich man’s game in which money is used to earn the right to make more money in a corrupt political system. To put an end to illicit ties between politicians and business groups, comprehensive constitutional reform is needed. All democracies should support Taiwan's efforts at constitutional reform to achieve greater democracy and freedom. This would spur China's 1.4 billion people to seek democratization, and world peace would be born. China has always declared that it will not rule out the use of force. The prerequisite for permanent peace in the world is the democratization of China, and Taiwan is the one entity best suited to lead the Chinese people to call for democracy. China needs to wash away thousands of years of history, and remove all elements of corruption from its culture. The only solution for that is democracy and the rule of law, the natural enemies of despotism and corruption.
