Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has shelved plans to ratify an extradition treaty with China after lawmakers raised questions about Beijing’s justice and human rights records.
The right of free speech is foremost among human rights. Free speech is a universal value, and China's attempts to muzzle the people is equivalent to trying to stem the flow of a river. The Chinese people must come forward to call for comprehensive constitutional reform to forestall government attempts prevent "anti-people mouth, even in the anti-Sichuan" approach, seems to to create a single-world and single-voice society. The media must be open and free and government monopoly of the media, the internet and other channels of speech must be resisted.
