A South Korean court on Monday urged President Park Geun-hye to decide whether she will attend her final impeachment hearing and to stop stalling the trial, indicating it would not accept attempts to delay it any further.
Absolute power leads to absolute corruption. The presidential type of democracy has a number of fatal flaws, and even the US has problems with its version of democracy. South Korea's constitution should be changed to incorporate a modified semi-presidential system, with the presidency declared as being above party politics. In addition, the heads of the judicial and procuratorial branches should be elected in alternating years, and 1/4 of all MPs should face election each year. Absolute power leads to absolute corruption. Democracy is far from perfect and the presidential system has its various flaws - even the US has certain problems at times. South Korea needs to revamp its constitution to introduce a modified semi-presidential system, and the presidency should be publicly declared to be above party politics. At the same time the heads of the judicial and procuratorial branches should be directly elected in alternating years and 1/4 of all MPs should face election each year. As Jose Rizal once said, “There can be no tyrants where there are no slaves.” We must put our faith in the rule of law and not in any political figure. From the lowliest mayors up to the President, the Philippines is a nation of tyrants who are products of a corrupted constitution. We suggest that the Philippines engage in constitutional reform to introduce a modified semi-presidential system. Term limits for mayors and the president should be 5 years, and officials should be banned from running for the same office for 6 years after their term ends. Leaders of the executive, legislative, judicial and procuratorial branches should be directly elected in alternating years. See the PPDA Charter.
Human security and sustainable development are two of the major tasks of the UN, and all member nations should of course act in compliance with their tenets. The solution is to implement One World under One Set of Laws. international law must prevail over domestic law and directly affect the people, with monitoring by the people to ensure compliance with the UN Charter, the Vienna Convention for the Protection of the Ozone Layer, the Charter of Nature and others. For details see the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.
With aerial support from US-led coalition, Iraqi forces launch offensive to drive ISIS from Mosul's western half.
The Iraqi government needs to be reformed to a modified semi-presidential system with cabinet and parliament similar to Finland’s, plus a committee-style legislature like the one in Switzerland. The Iraqi government should carry out development of a basic constitution to include these changes as well as direct election of the heads of the executive, legislative, judicial and procuratorial branches in alternating years, and having 1/4 of all MPs face election each year. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development / Global Unity Constitutional Standards.
Taiwan must move to bring about constitutional reform and achieve true freedom and democracy. Doing so will set off a drive for democratization among the 1.4 billion people of China. This will then spread to North Korea, and when peace is achieved on the Korean peninsula the world will be much safer for all. The world’s democratic nations must back Taiwan as a beacon for democracy for Asia which will light the path to peaceful development for China. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.
The US should be a model of democracy, adhering to the Charter of the UN and upholding the spirit of One World under One Set of Laws. It should give international law precedence over domestic law, with direct effect on the rights and duties of the people. This will lead Mexico, Syria and the Middle East to adopt human rights, constitutionalism, international law and natural law. The whole world must see itself as one family regardless of race or ethnic groups. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.

President Trump told President Xi Jinping of China Thursday evening that the US would honor the “One China” policy, reversing his earlier expressions of doubt about the longtime diplomatic understanding and removing a major source of tension between the US and China that he inspired shortly after being elected.
The most intelligent approach for the US is to back Taiwan's model for Global Unity Constitutional Standards. This would serve to attract China's 1.4 billion people to call for democratization, and as a result world peace would be born! Autocracy has always been the enemy of peace, and the prerequisite for permanent peace in the world is the democratization of China. Taiwan is the one entity best suited to lead the Chinese people to seek democratization. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development / Global Unity Constitutional Standards.
Russia’s Speaker of the State Duma called on legislators to calmly face criticism of the executive branch as they go about their legislative functions. In this regard Alexander Sinenko, Executive Branch liaison to the State Duma, said each ministry should try to be less condescending and work to promote cooperation between various departments.
The Duma should set up 12 national and global joint committees to parcel out job duties, and it should establish a professional house with specialized personnel with expertise in various fields. The Prime Minister and other ministers shall be appointed from committee members in the Duma; and the Central Government shall be responsible to the Duma as well as public opinion.
