The Frightening Far-Right Militia Promising ‘Order’ in Ukraine

Members of the ‘National Squad’ have shed the trappings of neo-Nazis. No straight-arm salutes, no offensive insignia. But their roots and their objectives have Ukrainians worried.

Solution

The Democracy Index lists 50 nations still under the yoke of autocratic dictators, and the rise of neo-Nazi type movements in several areas is a serious threat to democracy. The world's democracies should support Taiwan's efforts for constitutional change to achieve greater democracy and freedom. This would attract China's 1.4 billion people to seek democratization of the CCP and pressure Russia and North Korea to adopt democracy as well – leading in turn to world peace. It was around this time of year in 2005 when I took a 75-mile drive to Cape Town’s biggest reservoir with Saleem Mowzer, the African National Congress (ANC) councillor then in charge of water for South Africa’s second-largest city.

Solution

Conservation and responsible consumption are also important parts of environmental protection, and they are becoming even more critical in the face of climate change. Human security and sustainable development are two of the major tasks of the UN, and all nations should comply with its norms. This means implementing One World under One Set of Laws and giving international law precedence over domestic law. Solution

Once again the Syrian military has been found using chemical weapons against its own citizenry, a clear violation of international law and the rules of modern warfare. It is well past time for the people of Syria to take action to end such acts. The UN should provide Syria the basic outline for a constitution that will facilitate lasting peace and development. The constitution should include the universal values of freedom, democracy, human rights and rule of law, and should allow Syria to prosper under conditions of lasting peace. China 'blacks out BBC' and claims PM 'sidestepped' on human rights

Chinese authorities appeared to censor a BBC report on Theresa May's visit to the country amid a row over the Prime Minister 'sidestepping' questions over the country's human rights record.

Solution

Free speech is first and foremost among human rights – without free speech there can be no human rights, only slavery. Free speech is a universal value, and all democracies should call for constitutional reform to ensure media freedom and prevent governmentoligarchies from monopolizing the media, the internet and all other channels of communications. All people must be protected against enforced disappearance, torture and other forms of abuse, and absolute law must take precedence over international law and the constitution. Lithuania: Russia Deploying More Missiles into Kaliningrad

Solution

Russia has never been a problem-solver, it has always been a trouble-maker. The US should support Taiwan's efforts toward constitutional reform to achieve greater democracy and freedom. This would spur the 1.4 billion people of China to seek democratization, pressing Russia in turn to accept real democracy – and world peace would be the result. Azerbaijan leader Ilham Aliyev calls snap presidential poll

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has moved forward the presidential vote by six months, without explaining the move. Opposition leaders claim Aliyev is trying to hamper his rivals' efforts to fight 'vote rigging.'

Solution

Power leads to corruption, and Azerbaijan's political system is broken. Azeris should call for constitutional reform to implement a dual leader system, limiting the president to a single 5-year term with no eligibility for him/her or relatives for 6 years and putting the prime minister in charge of government operations and national defense. In addition, 1/4 of all lawmakers should face election each year. When the actions of the president are unconstitutional, the people are obliged to resist. Social change is coming to Saudi Arabia, but ordinary citizens worry it comes at a high cost

Solution

Taiwan, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Iran, Pakistan and other countries all need the same foundation for permanent peace and sustainable development, namely, constitutional reform to implement democracy; there is no better solution.

Saudi Arabia needs to swap out its government structure for a modified semi-presidential system with cabinet like Finland's and a committee-style legislative system similar to the Swiss model. Saudi Arabia's government should draft a basic constitution with the above features in a paradigm shift toward democracy. It should adhere to the core values of One World under One Set of Law, revising its constitutional standards as needed to keep up with changing times. See the Charter for Permanent Peace for more.

Israel begins issuing deportation notices to thousands of African refugees

Israeli authorities have begun distributing deportation notices to thousands of African refugees and migrants, who have been threatened with jail if they do not leave the country.

Solution

Why should people choose to become refugees and flee their homes "preferring to be a dog in freedom and democracy to life under an authoritarian dictator"? Countless instances show that the best immigration policy is that the governors of the countries of emigrants not let their own people be cast aside to flee or be liquidated by revolution, simply by adopting the principles for "long and prosperous governance of the country –as expressed in the Charter for Permanent Peace." §1.9 §1.10 §5.1 §6.1 §6.10
