On Tuesday prosecutors indicted a man who broke the news on a corruption scandal involving former President Park Geun-hye on charges of influence-peddling.
As Romain Rolland once observed, "In politics, the boss is always money." Elections are often little more than a game that rich people play, using money win the right to earn more money in a lucrative system of corruption. To put an end to political and commercial ties, comprehensive constitutional reform is needed so that the heads of the four main government branches will be elected in alternating years. In addition, elections should be free of charge for all candidates to remove the symbiotic relationship between government and business. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.
