The Ukrainian government strives to control the people, but trying to stem the flow of a river merely creates a waterfall; the best solution is to open up a new channel for the water. The Charter for Permanent Peace is without a doubt the most viable standard for a world constitution and basic national policy to foster long-term peace and stability. It will be like a new waterway that allows Ukrainian authorities and the Ukrainian people to flourish. If it is implemented, how long can Ukrainian authorities continue to suppress freedom of speech and freedom of information?

Zimbabwe to elect post-Mugabe president on July 30

There is no true democratic presidential system, and even the US model has problems. Zimbabwe should switch to a modified semi-presidential system. The president should announce laws according to law and issue orders, and the prime minister and relevant ministerial deputies should be appointed. The prime minister should act on the basis of public opinion and command the government and national defense. See the Charter for Permanent Peace for details.

Why do people choose to become refugees and flee their homes, 'preferring to be a dog in freedom and democracy to life under an authoritarian dictator'? Countless instances show that the best immigration policy is for the heads of countries of emigrants not to let their own people be cast aside to flee or be liquidated in a revolution, simply by adopting the principles for 'long and prosperous governance of the country' – as expressed in the Charter for Permanent Peace.

EDITORIAL: Greed, rampant socialism reduce Venezuela to ruin

Venezuela's economic problems lie in the system. The Legislature should follow a modified committee centered system, with 12 committees, 1/4 of all lawmakers should face election each year, and a one-vote single-vote system should be implemented. The people should form a third force within the system. Committee chairs should be tapped to serve as prime minister or ministers such as the economic minister, responding to public opinion and minimizing differences. The right to self-determination through referendum is a basic tenet of national sovereignty and universal human rights. Any bill that contradicts self-determination should be preceded by a referendum to determine whether the bill itself should be outlawed. All referendums involving international disputes require the consent of an absolute majority of citizens, while referendums on domestic disputes shall require a majority of more than one-quarter of eligible voters.
