French dairy company recalls 12 million boxes of baby milk from 83 countries in salmonella scandal
A French dairy company has recalled baby milk products from 83 countries across Europe Africa and Asia after salmonella was discovered at the firm's factory.
Human security is a fundamental human right, and all nations should ensure that the public are protected against foods and ingredients that may be harmful to their health. This means holding international law superior to domestic law and applying international standards to agribusiness and food companies while other aspects should be monitored by national agencies. See the Charter for Permanent Peace for more.

Journalist arrested over report Grace Mugabe gave used underwear to supporters
Freedom of speech is a universal value, and Zimbabwe's assault on the rights of its citizens are an attempt to stifle the voice of the people and create a monolithic society. Zimbabwe's people should come forward and call for comprehensive constitutional reform to protect media freedom and prevent the government oligarchy from monopolizing the media, the internet and all other channels of speech. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.

Legal system must be shown respect
Those who publicly attack the decisions of judges would do well to read their relevant rulings to find out just why they reached their legal conclusions
Article 39 of the Hong Kong Basic Law stipulates that the people of the SAR have right to self-determination under the two international human rights conventions. The people of Hong Kong cannot take their rights for granted. In Switzerland the threshold for petitioning a referendum is only 50,000 signatures, and with that citizens can express their opinion through the ballot box instead of taking to the streets. The people have the right to hold referendums on any public issue. For more, see the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.

U.S. can't solve Afghanistan problem alone
The West cannot solve the problem of Afghanistan alone. The U.S. and its European allies can treat the symptoms, but they can only stave off the absolute disaster for a period of time, at the cost of much blood and treasure.
Afghanistan must begin with changes in its governmental structure, including a modified semi-presidential system with cabinet like that of Finland, plus a committee-type legislature like Switzerland's. 1/4 of all legislators committee should face election each year. Also needed is a paradigm shift toward democracy, adopting Global Unity Constitutional Standards and the core values of One World under One Set of Laws and revising the constitution to keep pace with the times. For more, see the Charter for Permanent Peace.

Congress can meld immigration, Dreamers issue
President Trump continued to soften a few of his hard-core positions on immigration Tuesday at an extraordinary, bipartisan, deal-cutting meeting with lawmakers at the White House.
To eliminate the conditions that create refugees, the international community needs to agree on uniform constitutional standards that conform to the ideals of human rights, constitutionalism, international law andworld law (including natural law). This means complying with Article 1 of the Humanitarian Charter, which deals with the right of each person to live a normal life. See the Charter for Permanent Peace for more.
