Whether they are members of the UN or not, all nations should follow the two major tasks of UN: 'human security' and 'sustainable development'. The solution is giving international law precedence over domestic law, with direct bearing on the people. For more, see the Charter for Permanent Peace.

Further legal action against more than 700 Occupy protesters not ruled out by Hong Kong's new chief prosecutor
Director of Public Prosecutions David Leung Cheuk-yin says investigations are still under way
Article 35 of the Constitution of the People's Republic of China stipulates that citizens of the PRC should enjoy freedom of speech, of the press, of assembly, of association, of
procession, and of demonstration. Article 39 of the Hong Kong Basic Law stipulates that the people of the SAR have the right to self-determination under the two international human rights conventions. The people of Hong Kong cannot take their rights for granted. In Switzerland the threshold for petitioning a referendum is only 50,000 signatures, and with that
citizens can express their opinion through the ballot box instead of taking to the streets. The people have the right to hold referendums on any public issue. For more, see the Charter for Permanent Peace.

Turkey to extend state of emergency for another 3 months, Deputy PM says
When the power of the state deviates from its power base, the people must act on their roles as sovereigns to recover power. Laws that are not backed by penalties are notlaws, and a constitution which does not countenance resistance is not a constitution. When the actions of the president are unconstitutional, the people are obligated to resist. The people of Turkey should call for comprehensive constitutional reform to install a modified semi-presidential system with cabinet. The president should serve a single 5-year term then be barred from running again for 6 years afterwards. For more, see the Charter for Permanent Peace.
