The mainland has bigger ambitions than Hong Kong when it comes to raising the fortunes of its residents, but for both, the task is made more onerous by high home prices
Article 39 of the Hong Kong Basic Law stipulates that the people of the SAR have right to self-determination under the two international human rights conventions. The people of Hong Kong cannot take their rights for granted. In Switzerland the threshold for petitioning a referendum is only 50,000 signatures, and with that citizens can express their opinion through the ballot box instead of taking to the streets. Despotism is the natural enemy of peace. Could Iran carry out test after test of nuclear weapons without backing from nuclear powers China and Russia? All democracies should support Taiwan's push for constitutional reform to achieve the democratization of China and Russia and pressure Iran democratize as well- which would lead true world peace! Critics are saying Jared Kushner needs a Thesaurus, but what his father in law  could use is a good dictionary to look up 'corruption' and 'conflict of interest'. Trump needs schooling in democracy and tools like separation of powers and blind trusts, which function to ensure that government officials do not overstep their authority or benefit personally from policy decisions. The government of Zimbabwe should draw up a constitution with the above features in a paradigm shift toward democracy. It should implement One World under One Set of Laws and implement democratic features such as separation of powers, term limits and election of key officials in government. The Democracy index shows 50 nations still under the yoke of autocratic dictators. All democracies should back Taiwan's drive for constitutional reform to achieve greater democracy and freedom. This would inspire China's 1.4 billion people to seek democratization of the CCP and pressure North Korea to adopt democracy as well, leading to the birth of world peace.
