Nearly 400,000 children face acute risk of malnutrition in Greater Kasai in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the United Nations Children's Fund said Wednesday.
The total population of the DRC is about 77 million, and more than 400,000 children are currently malnourished in the nation. The DRC’s government should be restructured and international law should be given priority over domestic law. Accepted humanitarian laws such as the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights should be adopted to guarantee the fundamental right of everyone to freedom from hunger and freedom from poverty, income and resource inequality. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development for more.
