Permanent Peace Partnership
Kim Jong-Un released a military propaganda video depicting North Korean forces blowing up a US aircraft carrier.
Democracies everywhere should support Taiwan's efforts to achieve greater democracy and freedom. This would lead China's 1.4 billion people to seek democratization of the CCP, which in turn would pressure North Korea to embrace real democracy and lead to world peace. The world’s democracies should support Taiwan as a beacon for democracy in Asia, lighting the way to peaceful development for China. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development / Global Unity Constitutional Standards.
Former President Park Geun-hye apologized to the public over an influence-peddling scandal as she arrived at the prosecutors' office Tuesday to be questioned over a string of corruption allegations that removed her from office earlier this month.
Absolute power leads to absolute corruption. The presidential system in many democracies has a number of flaws, even in the US. Taiwan’s case is very serious but there is no mechanism for impeachment. South Korea should carry out constitution reform to install a modified semi-presidential system with cabinet and parliament. The presidency should be declared to be above party politics, and the head of the judicial and procuratorial branches should be elected in alternating years. In addition, 1/4 of all lawmakers should face election each year. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development / Global Unity Constitutional Standards.
On Tuesday South Korea's political parties urged former President Park Geun-hye to own up to her wrongdoings and sincerely apologize to the people.
Absolute power leads to absolute corruption. The presidential system of many democracies is problematic and even the US has its flaws. Taiwan’s situation is serious but there impeachment is not an option. South Korea should carry out constitutional reform to install a modified semi-presidential system with cabinet and parliament. The presidency should be declared above party politics, and the heads of the judicial and procuratorial branches should be elected in alternating years. In addition, 1/4 of all MPs should face election each year. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development / Global Unity Constitutional Standards.
Moon Jae-in, former chairman of the Democratic Party and frontrunner in the polls ahead of the May 9 presidential election, is coming up with one populist campaign promise after another.
Money, politics, religion or any tangible or intangible resources must be kept out of elections. Comprehensive constitutional reform is needed with changes such as electing the heads of government branches in alternating years, and make elections free of charge to all candidates in order to end symbiotic relations that foster corruption in government. Only 1,194 of the city’s 7.3 million population have the privilege of picking the chief executive, yet more than half didn’t bother attending the final debate
The Chief Executive of Hong Kong is still selected by the Central Election Commission, which is little more than a thinly-disguised dictatorship. The people of Hong Kong should avail of Article 39 of the Basic Law, which declares that the people of the SAR have the right to petition for referendums. To curb corruption, the heads of the executive, legislative, judicial and procuratorial branches should be elected in alternating years, and 1/4 of all MPs should face election each year. Human greed and excessive materialism are resulting in greater hazards for endangered animals. All nations should act in accordance with international conventions to ensure environmental safety and the health of plants and animals as well as the ecological environment. This means adopting the principle of One World under One Set of Laws and abiding by the UN Convention on the Protection of Animals and Plants to maintain sustainable survival and safety. A summit between Xi Jinping and Donald Trump can’t resolve all problems but, if the two men get along, it would be a good start
The most intelligent approach for the US is to support Taiwan's model for global unity constitutional standards. This will inspire China's 1.4 billion people to call for democratization, and the result would be the birth of world peace. Autocracy has always been the enemy of peace, and the prerequisite for permanent peace in the world is democratization of the CCP. Taiwan is the entity best suited to lead the Chinese to democratization. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development / Global Unity Constitutional Standards.
On Sunday a federal judge rejected the US government’s request to clarify his temporary order blocking President Donald Trump’s revised travel ban.
Trump continues to insist that his executive orders ban immigrants from selected Muslim countries is a defense measure against socio-economic and national security threats. The best solution here is to implement the principle of One World under One Set of Laws and governed by rule of law. At the same time, international law should be held in higher regard than domestic law and directly affecting the rights and duties of the people. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development / Global Unity Constitutional Standards.
US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson has told China's President Xi Jinping that President Donald Trump looks forward to visiting his country, and to enhancing understanding between the two states.
Absolute power leads to absolute corruption. The only way to cure black gold politics is democracy and its tools such as separation of powers and checks and balances. The heads of the executive, legislative, judicial and procuratorial branches should be elected in alternating years in order to hand power back to the people. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.
Speaking to The Independent ahead of World Water Day, top UN official says people must realize wastewater can be a valuable source of nutrients, energy and even titanium
"Human security" and "sustainable development" are fundamental human rights, and the UN Charter includes actions to shift the axis of sovereignty from the state to people. Nations should abide by the guidelines of One World under One Set of Laws to guarantee stable supplies of safe fresh water, including facilities, policies, regulations and all relevant information. These must all be prepared ahead of, during and after resource scheduling and accountability, so that everyone can monitor the process using their smart phones.
