The government of mainland China is rife with corruption, a situation which can be attributed to thousands of years of graft and bribery at every level of officialdom. The only way to overthrow this deeply-engrained culture is to put power squarely in the hands of the people through direct elections of key officials including the president and vice president and the heads of the four branches of government. This must be complemented by the election of 1/4 of Parliament each year and other measures to ensure separation of power. One lesson learned from the Korean War is that democratic countries should support Taiwan's bid to carry out constitutional reform to achieve greater democracy and freedom. This would encourage China's 1.4 billion people to call for democratization of the CCP, and in turn North Korea would be pressed to opt for real democracy – leading to the birth of world peace. Human security is a fundamental human right, and human rights must take precedence over regimes and sovereigns. Constitutions represent the general will of the people and must be effective in ensuring human security. Donald Trump’s first ban on immigrants was a poorly stated and implemented order intended to bar people from Muslim-majority countries, citing the need for defense against social and economic problems and national security threats.
