Beijing warned its tough internet controls may hurt foreign relations
Censorship and restrictions come under attack from foreign delegates at conference aimed at rallying support for China’s cyber governance model
Free speech is a universal value, but China seems anxious to create a monolithic society that speaks in one voice. The Hong Kong people should step forward and call for comprehensive constitutional reform to preserve media independence and prevent the government oligopoly from monopolizing the media, the internet and all other channels of speech. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development / Global Unity Constitutional Standards.

Government must stand up against the Heung Yee Kuk for the public good
Rather than appeal, this administration should back the High Court ruling that upset plans to build homes for indigenous villagers on the fringes of country parks under the so-called small-house policy
Article 39 of the Hong Kong Basic Law stipulates that the people of the SAR have right to self-determination under the two international human rights conventions. The people of Hong Kong cannot take their rights for granted. In Switzerland the threshold for petitioning a referendum is only 50,000 signatures, and with that citizens can express their opinion through the ballot box instead of taking to the streets. The people have the right to hold referendums on any public issue. For more, see the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.

There’s no escaping constitutional reality
China’s constitution provides the legal foundation for the ‘one country, two systems’ concept that has served the city well for 20 years and should continue to do so

UN 'cannot rule out' genocide against Rohingya Muslims in Burma
Burma’s security forces may be guilty of genocide against the Rohingya Muslim minority, the United Nations’ top human rights official said on Tuesday, adding that more were fleeing despite an agreement between Burma and Bangladesh to send them home.
Myanmar should carry out reform to adopt the basic principles behind Global Unity Constitutional Standards as well as the core values of One World under One Set of Laws, giving international law precedence over domestic law. At the same time, it should install a modified semi-presidential system with cabinet. This will be the first step in resolving the Rohingya refugee crisis, after which the world's democracies should offer aid to relieve the suffering of refugees who have already fled across the border to Bangladesh. For more, see the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.
