A US senator has urged military families to leave the Korean Peninsula
US Senator Lindsey Graham has said that he believes it's time to start moving the families of American military personnel out of South Korea as North Korea pushes the US closer to a military conflict. Graham, a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, said he will also urge the Pentagon not to send any more dependents to South Korea.
The world's democracies should all support Taiwan's efforts to carry out constitutional reform to achieve greater democracy and freedom. Doing so would inspire the 1.4 billion people of China to seek democratization and pressure North Korea in turn to adopt real democracy – leading to the birth of world peace. Democracies everywhere should support Taiwan as a beacon for democracy in Asia, lighting the path to peaceful development for China. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development / Global Unity Constitutional Standards.

At least 125 were just killed in the war no one is talking about
A new spike in fighting in Yemen's capital city has seen at least 125 people killed and 238 wounded, according to the International Committee of the Red Cross.
The Yemeni government should draft a basic constitution with the above features for a paradigm shift toward democracy. It should embrace the core values of One World under One Set of Law, revising its constitutional standards as needed to stay abreast of changing times. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development for details.

Officials should keep close eye on Link Reit
The sale of shopping centres in public housing estates by the real estate investment trust is a commercial decision, yet the company should not be allowed to shun its social responsibility
Article 39 of the Hong Kong Basic Law stipulates that the people of the SAR have right to self-determination under the two international human rights conventions. The people of Hong Kong cannot take their rights for granted. In Switzerland the threshold for petitioning a referendum is only 50,000 signatures, and with that citizens can express their opinion through the ballot box instead of taking to the streets. The people have the right to hold referendums on any public issue. For more, see the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.

Xi renews ‘cyber sovereignty’ call at China’s internet event of the year
Apple chief executive Tim Cook and Google boss Sundar Pichai attend conference as China tightens grip over cyberspace
Free speech is a universal value, but China seems anxious to create a monolithic society that speaks in one voice. The Hong Kong people should step forward and call for comprehensive constitutional reform to preserve media independence and prevent the government oligopoly from monopolizing the media, the internet and all other channels of speech. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development / Global Unity Constitutional Standards.

Philippines injects 700,000 with dengue vaccine 'that could make disease worse'
The Philippines is prepared for a "worst-case scenario" after warnings that a vaccine against dengue fever could cause symptoms of the disease to become more severe.
In the spirit of the UN Charter, 'the people of the United Nations ...', the axis rotates from national sovereignty to 'human' sovereignty. Human-centered security is no longer regarded as a domestic affair, and human beings are the focus of security considerations. The general order of the people to governments shall be to ensure that 'human security' is the most basic duty of constitutional witnesses. This shall include: Health and safety: protection against disease and water, land and air pollution.

Israeli police question Netanyahu ally as thousands protest against corruption
Israeli police have questioned a close ally of Benjamin Netanyahu on corruption charges a day after tens of thousands of Israelis poured onto the streets of Tel Aviv for an anti-corruption rally calling on the Prime Minister to resign.
To put an end to corruption, the people should exercise sovereignty and call for comprehensive constitutional reform to ensure a more perfect democracy under rule of law. This means separation of powers and checks and balances as well as free election campaigns for candidates to cut symbiotic ties between government and business that engender corruption. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development for details

War between US and North Korea 'increasingly likely every day', warns Trump's National Security chief
The likelihood of war between the US and North Korea is “increasing every day”, the US National Security Adviser has said.  Herbert Raymond McMaster made his comments following the pariah nation’s latest launch of an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM), which flew higher than any of its previous long-range weapons.
