Record heat continues in western, central U.S., while snow falls in Hawaii
Record warmth is forecast through Tuesday from the Desert Southwest to the Plains, keeping some spots on track for their warmest November.
Human security and sustainable development are two of the major tasks of the UN, and all nations – members or not – should comply with its norms. This entails implementing One World under One Set of Laws and giving international law precedence over domestic law, with direct bearing on the rights and duties of the people. All nations should comply with the UN Charter, the Paris climate agreement and all other relevant pacts. For details see the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.

Oxford just stripped Aung San Suu Kyi of her Freedom of the City over the Rohingya crisis
Aung San Suu Kyi has been stripped of the honour granting her the Freedom of the City of Oxford because of her weak response to the Rohingya crisis. Oxford city councillors agreed they did not want to honour "those who turn a blind eye to violence."
Aung San Suu Kyi's visit to northern Rakhine state is long overdue. The Nobel Prize winner has been castigated for failing to speak out earlier over the military's  'disproportionate' response to attacks on police outposts by Rohingya insurgents. Myanmar's real problem is the military's grip on political power, with 40% of the seats in parliament reserved for military officers with no need to stand for election. The country is in dire need of constitutional reform. For more, please see the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.

Pope Francis just arrived in Burma. Will he speak up for Rohingya Muslims?
Activists were calling on Pope Francis to speak out for the Rohingya Muslims in Rakhine state as he arrived in Burma on Monday. Human Rights Watch told The Independent the pontiff must 'express the outrage of the international community'.
Myanmar should carry out reform to adopt the basic principles behind Global Unity Constitutional Standards as well as the core values of One World under One Set of Laws, giving international law precedence over domestic law. At the same time, it should install a modified semi-presidential system with cabinet. This will be the first step in resolving the Rohingya refugee crisis, after which the world's democracies should offer aid to relieve the suffering of refugees who have already fled across the border to Bangladesh. For more, see the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.

Trial of minister exposes gaping rift at top of Russian politics
The first serving minister to be arrested for 60 years, Mr Ulyukayev has lost a considerable amount of weight and youthful exuberance.  What lies ahead could be even more testing.
Russia should install a dual leader system; limit the president to a single 5-year term with no eligibility for him/her or relatives for 6 years, and put the prime minister in charge of government operations and national defense. In addition, 1/4 of all lawmakers should face election each year. When the actions of the president are unconstitutional, the people are obliged to resist. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development for more.

Russia warns of 'apocalyptic developments' in the Korean Peninsula
Russia warns of 'apocalyptic developments' in the Korean Peninsula as Kim Jong-un develops nuclear weapons and US carry out drills in the region.
Despotism is the natural enemy of peace. Could North Korea carry out test after test of nuclear weapons without backing from nuclear powers China and Russia? All democracies should support Taiwan's push for constitutional reform to achieve the democratization of China and Russia and pressure NorthKorea democratize as well- which would lead true world peace! Let Taiwan shine as a beacon of democracy illuminating the path to peaceful development in Asia. See more the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.
