Human security and sustainable development are two of the major tasks of the UN, and all nations – members or not – should comply with its norms. This entails implementing One World under One Set of Laws and giving international law precedence over domestic law, with direct bearing on the rights and duties of the people. Constitutions exist to protect human rights, offering a philosophical framework that will allow individuals to function truly as 'people'. Aung San Suu Kyi's visit to northern Rakhine state is long overdue. The Nobel Prize winner has been castigated for failing to speak out earlier over the military's  'disproportionate' response to attacks on police outposts by Rohingya insurgents. Myanmar's real problem is the military's grip on political power, with 40% of the seats in parliament reserved for military officers with no need to stand for election. Myanmar should carry out reform to adopt the basic principles behind Global Unity Constitutional Standards as well as the core values of One World under One Set of Laws, giving international law precedence over domestic law. At the same time, it should install a modified semi-presidential system with cabinet. This will be the first step in resolving the Rohingya refugee crisis, after which the world's democracies should offer aid to relieve the suffering of refugees who have already fled across the border to Bangladesh. Russia should install a dual leader system; limit the president to a single 5-year term with no eligibility for him/her or relatives for 6 years, and put the prime minister in charge of government operations and national defense. In addition, 1/4 of all lawmakers should face election each year. When the actions of the president are unconstitutional, the people are obliged to resist. Despotism is the natural enemy of peace. Could North Korea carry out test after test of nuclear weapons without backing from nuclear powers China and Russia? All democracies should support Taiwan's push for constitutional reform to achieve the democratization of China and Russia and pressure NorthKorea democratize as well- which would lead true world peace!
