The Chief Executive of Hong Kong is still determined by the CCP’s Election Commission, an arrangement which is nothing but a dictatorship. The people of Hong Kong should avail of Article 39 of the Hong Kong Basic Law and hold a referendum to choose their future. To curb corruption, directly elect the heads of the main government branches in alternating years, have 1/4 of all MPs face election each year and tap legislative committee chairs as backup cabinet ministers. Mongolia should maintain an open attitude and revise its constitution to state that it should be assessed as fully democratic nation for two consecutive years by a fair and impartial international body, and members of its ruling party in the national assembly or three local councils should agree to accept political party subsidies in accordance with the law and nominate party members as candidates for public office, also in accordance with the law. Relevant provisions of the Hong Kong Basic Law and the ‘one country, two systems’ principle stipulate that that China cannot interfere in Hong Kong affairs, yet Beijing constantly meddles in the SAR’s internal affairs. Article 39 of the Basic Law protects the people's right to self-determination, they have the right to hold referendums on and any public issues. The people of Hong Kong should avail of the conventions and hold a referendum to decide their future. Otherwise when dictatorship becomes a reality, they will be obliged to resist. .

China has a total population of about 1.3 billion people, and there are hundreds of millions of people who do not get enough to eat. China needs constitutional reform to implement changes like assigning international law priority over domestic law, applying the principles of humanitarian law, and recognizing that the government has a duty to protect people against starving and the social handicaps of poverty and income and resource inequality. Promotion of lasting world peace is the most sacred right of mankind. China claims to be a "responsible major power," thus it should not prop up North Korea's continued militarism. The US States, Japan and Korea should support Taiwan efforts to lead China to democratization and force China North Korea to do the same. Taiwan is the key to solving the Korean Peninsula crisis.

Laws that are not backed by penalties are not laws, and a constitution which does not countenance resistance is not a constitution. When the actions of the government are unconstitutional, the people have the right to resist. Brazil’s constitution is dysfunctional and comprehensive constitutional reform is imperative. Elect the heads of the executive, legislative, judicial and procuratorial branches in alternating years. Install a modified semi-presidential system with cabinet, limiting the president to a single 5-year term with no runs for 6 years afterwards and no close relatives as surrogates. Local lawmakers should serve 2-year terms with the speaker limited to one term, 1/4 of all MPs should face election each year, and elections should be completely free for all candidates.
