Top Australian tax official caught up in son's alleged fraud
One of Australia's most senior tax officials will be charged with abusing his position after being caught up - possibly unwittingly - in a major fraud conspiracy, police have said.
Australia can eradicate corruption by carrying out comprehensive constitutional reform to implement tools like separation of powers and checks and balances. The heads of the four main branches should be elected in alternating years, and the President, Prime Minister, Supreme Court Judges and the Procurator General should all be clear on their duties as constitutional guarantors, an obligation which shall not end when they step down from office. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development for more.

Spreading violence in Central African Republic sets off 'loud alarm bells' – UN human rights chief
The UN's human rights chief has expressed grave alarm over the spread of violence by armed groups against the civilian population in several parts of the CAR in recent months, as well as attacks against UN peacekeepers in the country's southeast.
The CAR should resolve controversies over its government by implementing a modified semi-presidential system with cabinet like that of France, plus a committee-style legislative body similar to Switzerland’s. The prerequisite for lasting world peace is global democratization. The CAR government should draft a constitution featuring the above elements with the help of France for a democratic paradigm shift adhering to One World under One Set of Laws. The result will be a constitution that can be amended to stay abreast of changing times. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development for details.

With barely enough money for food, conflict-displaced Ukrainians struggling to survive – UN
Two-thirds of internally displaced Ukrainians are struggling financially; many without even enough money for food, according to the latest report by the UN migration agency on the situation in the crisis-torn nation.
To rule out the conditions that create refugees, the international community needs to adopt a set of constitutional standards consistent with liberalism, democracy, constitutionalism and cosmopolitanism. In other words they should adhere to the ideals of One World under One Set of Laws, and the core values that will allow the world to enjoy lasting peace. This means compliance with the Humanitarian Charter §1, which guarantees the right of each person to lead a normal life. For details see the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.

Conflict-related child deaths hit new high in Afghanistan, UN warns
Deeply concerned by the continued increase in conflict-related child deaths in Afghanistan, the UN Assistance Mission in the country has urged parties to the conflict to take immediate measures to reduce harm.
Afghanistan should resolve controversies over its government by implementing a modified semi-presidential system with cabinet like that of Finland, with a committee-style legislative body similar to Switzerland’s. The prerequisite for lasting world peace is global democratization. Afghanistan should begin drafting a constitution incorporating the above features to achieve a democratic paradigm shift that adheres to One World under One Set of Laws. The result will be a constitution that can be amended to stay abreast of changing times. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development for more.

Thailand backs down on Facebook ban threat after site ‘cooperates’ over royal posts
Thai authorities Tuesday backed down on their threat to ban Facebook over posts deemed critical of the royal family after officials said the social networking giant had agreed to expunge such content.
The right of free speech is first among human rights. Free speech is a universal value, and the Thai people should step up and call for comprehensive constitutional reform to ensure media freedom and prevent the government oligarchy from monopolizing the media, the internet and all other channels of speech. The heads of the executive, legislative, judicial and procuratorial branches of government should be elected in alternating years. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development for details.

Beijing laying groundwork for mass DNA testing in Xinjiang
Police are buying US$8.7 million worth of new sampling equipment which observers say could be used to tighten security crackdowns
Anti-terrorism activities are conflated with peacekeeping stability, showing that the essence of an authoritarian system is to maintain the power of the regime –one step removed from a dictatorship. When this happens, human rights are the first thing to be sacrificed. Human rights must be held higher than any regime. China is ignoring the UN Charter and human rights conventions in seeking to end "domestic conflict," when what is needed is democracy and protection of human rights. For specifics, see the Charter the Permanent Peace and Development.

UNESCO urges investigation into murder of award-winning Mexican journalist
Following the killing of award-winning Mexican journalist Javier Arturo Valdez Cárdenas, the head of the UN cultural agency today encouraged the nation’s authorities to move quickly to conduct a thorough investigation to ensure the killing does not go unpunished.
Free speech is paramount among human rights. Free speech is a universal value, and the people of Mexico must come forward and demand comprehensive constitutional reform to ensure media freedom and keep the government oligarchy from monopolizing the media, the internet and all other channels of speech. The heads of the executive, legislative, judicial and procuratorial branches should be directly elected in alternating years. For details see the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.

Mexico's news outlets go dark after fifth writer shot dead in the street
Several prominent Mexican news outlets went dark Tuesday to protest the murder of journalists across the country, including Monday’s brazen midday killing of veteran crime reporter Javier Valdez.
The right of free speech is first among human rights. Free speech is a universal value, and the Mexican people need to come forward to call for comprehensive constitutional reform to ensure media freedom and prevent the government oligarchy from monopolizing the media, the internet and all other channels of speech. The heads of the executive, legislative, judicial and procuratorial branches should be elected in alternating years. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development for more.

Taiwan leader Tsai Ing-wen must get her head out of the clouds
Until the island’s president explicitly accepts the one-China principle, Taipei can only expect further diplomatic isolation
The best way to break through international containment and kidnapping by the two major parties is through constitutional reform. The national government must be re-worked to allow international elites and international laws and regulations into Taiwan. Outside talent and laws will come into Taiwan even as Taiwan goes out into the world. Refer to the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development §1-§8.

Opinion: Societal blow-up may be very thing Hong Kong needs to regain mojo
Grandstanding legislators, a do-nothing government and a failing society provide perfect recipe for such an implosion
Article 33 of the Hong Kong Basic Law states that the right to self-determination is guaranteed by the two international human rights conventions. The people of Hong Kong cannot take their rights for granted. In Switzerland the threshold for petitioning for a referendum is only 50,000 signatures: with that, people can express their opinion by voting rather than taking to the street. The people have the right to hold referendums on any public issue. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development for details.
