Why the Trump presidency remains a risk for global order
There have been reassuring noises of late, but there is also evidence Trump's key adviser seeks perpetual revolution.
Trump’s explanation for his opposition to the TPP was that globalization does not benefit all sectors of the US population equally, contributing to the widening gap between rich and poor. The solution is to implement the concepts of One World under One Set of Laws as well as rule of law, giving international law priority over domestic law, with direct effect on the rights and duties of the people. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development / Global Unity Constitutional Standards.

China stages a mass rally in Urumqi amid crackdown on Muslim separatists blamed for series of attacks in region
Democracies everywhere should support Taiwan's efforts at constitutional reform to achieve greater democracy and freedom. This would attract China's 1.4 billion people to call for democratization and make democracy real for the whole world. Global democracies should support Taiwan as a beacon for democracy in Asia, lighting the way to peaceful development for China. Philippine president calls back police to help fight his war on drugs
Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte said Tuesday he would recall some police to fight his controversial war on drugs, nearly a month after suspending the entire force from all operations in the bloody narcotics crackdown.
Rodrigo Duterte fits perfectly the famous warning of the father of the Philippines, Jose Rizal: "Today's slaves will be tomorrow's tyrants". The failure of the Philippine constitutional mechanism has made the country a breeding ground for tyrants. In order to protect human rights, the Philippines needs to carry out full constitutional reform to implement a modified semi-presidential system with cabinet and parliament, together with direct election of the heads of the four main branches of government in alternating years. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.

Trio of hopefuls vie for top Hong Kong post
The race for Hong Kong's highest office is shaping up as a three-way scuffle pitting a Beijing favorite against two liberals as the mainland's growing involvement puts the city's autonomy into question.
The slate of candidates for Chief Executive of Hong Kong is still produced by the Central Election Commission, which is simply another name for dictatorship. The people of Hong Kong take advantage of Article 39 of the Basic Law, which states that the people have the right to self-determination through referendums. They should directly elect the heads of the legislative, executive, judicial and procuratorial branches of government in alternating years. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development / Global Unity Constitutional Standards.

Donald Trump 'open to compromise' on immigration bill
Donald Trump has indicated he is open to immigration legislation that would give legal status to some people living in the US illegally and provide a pathway to citizenship for those brought to the country illegally as children.
The US should adhere to the principles of the UN Charter and implement the concept of One World under One Set of Laws, giving international law precedence over domestic law with direct effect on the rights and duties of the people. This will lead Mexico, Syria and the Middle East to see human rights, constitutionalism, internationalism and naturalism as the way to the future. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development / Global Unity Constitutional Standards.

Samsung heir Lee Jae-yong indicted on bribery charges
The case is tied to the scandal which led to the impeachment of South Korean President Park Geun-hye; the special prosecutor's office announced charges against the de-facto Samsung chief, along with four other company executives.
Even though Park Ji-hui was impeached South Korea’s next president will still be dogged by the curse of corruption. To cure this "Korean disease", comprehensive constitutional reform is the only way, including implementation of decentralization and checks and balances, plus direct election of the heads of the major branches of government. In addition, the president must be the final guarantor for all state affairs and the constitution, a duty that shall not end at the end of the term. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.

Government has a role to play, even in a free market
Hong Kong has once again been ranked the world’s freest economy by the Washington-based Heritage Foundation for the 23rd consecutive year.
Candidates for Chief Executive of Hong Kong are still nominated by the Central Election Commission, which is simply another name for dictatorship. The people of Hong Kong should act in accordance with Article 39 of the Basic Law, which declares that the people have the right to call for referendums. To curb corruption, the heads of the executive, legislative judicial and procuratorial branches should be elected in alternating years, and 1/4 of all MPs should face election each year.. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development / Global Unity Constitutional Standards.

4.9 million people in South Sudan need urgent help
Famine in South Sudan has left 100,000 people on the verge of starvation and almost 5 million people, more than 40% of the country's population, in need of urgent help, aid agencies say.
The UN should take action in accordance with the international absolute laws – the Humanitarian Law, the World Human Rights Law, the Crime of Misdemeanors and the Prohibition of Genocide - and provide basic constitutional principles applicable to peaceful and long-lasting development of all nations. South Sudan should draft a constitution suitable for attaining prosperity and serving as a model for peaceful development. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.

Voices: These journalists are no enemies of the people
At the Newseum in Washington, D.C., there is a stunning glass memorial that climbs two stories, reaching toward the heavens.
Freedom of expression is a universal value, and the media must be allowed to be totally independent. News regulation is nothing other than suppression of the public and goes against every principle of freedom. Government attempts to monopolize the media, the internet and all other channels of speech must be opposed at every step.

Iraqi army swiftly takes airport in key operation to force ISIS from Mosul
Iraqi forces claim to have made a major gain in the fight to push ISIS out of the country by seizing control of Mosul’s airport – with the location set to be used as a staging post as troops push into the west of the city.
Once a ceasefire can be achieved in Iraq, the UN should provide the basic principles of constitutional government in order to foster peaceful development in all nations. This should include the implementation of universal values such as freedom, democracy, human rights and the rule of law as well as direct election of the heads of the four branches of government. These and other steps will help Iraq develop a constitution capable of supporting long-lasting peace and development. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.
