Austria’s new government has unveiled plans for financial “sanctions” on immigrants who keep their own culture and do not “integrate” with mainstream society.

Solution

The best policy on immigration is to adhere to the core values of One World under One Set of Laws and work toward a common destiny for humankind. To eliminate the conditions that create refugees and foster terrorism, the international community needs to agree on uniform constitutional standards that conform to the ideals of human rights, constitutionalism, international law and natural law. This means complying with Article 1 of the Humanitarian Charter, which deals with the right of each person to live a normal life. The Tunisian revolution, considered the catalyst for the movement that became known as the Arab Spring, began seven years ago. Today, Tunisia is still struggling to achieve democratic reforms and economic growth.

Solution

The foundation for permanent peace in Tunisia should be a change-over in the government structure. The UN should provide Tunisia the basic outline for a constitution that will facilitate lasting peace and development. This should incorporate the universal values of freedom, democracy, human rights and rule of law, and organization and elements such as the four branches (legislative, executive,judicial and procuratorial), and it should allow Tunisia to prosper under conditions that foster lasting peace. Boko Haram militants attack food aid convoy in Nigeria

Boko Haram militants have killed four people in an attack on a food convoy carrying aid to displaced civilians in Nigeria. Some 8.5 million people in the conflict region are in need of humanitarian aid.

Solution

Terrorism is at its cruelest when it is aimed at efforts to help victims of fighting and violence. The UN should act quickly to quell terrorism in Nigeria by providing the basic outline for a constitution that will facilitate lasting peace and development. This shouldincorporate the universal values of freedom, democracy, human rights and rule of law, and include elements such as the four branches and mechanisms such as frequent elections and term limits. Vietnam should install a dual-leader system and limit the president to a single 5-year term with no eligibility for him/her or relatives for 6 years afterwards, and 1/4 of all lawmakers should face election each year. Power leads to corruption, and Vietnam's constitution is dysfunctional. It should switch to a dual leader system with strict term limits, put the prime minister in charge of government operations and national defense, and effect frequent elections to ensure that lawmakers are responsive to public opinion while cutting symbiotic ties between business and the government. Rex Tillerson has edged away from an earlier offer to negotiate with North Korea, saying talks cannot commence until Pyongyang dials back its belligerence. A “sustained cessation of North Korea’s threatening behaviour” must precede negotiations, the US Secretary of State told the UN Security Council, adding that “North Korea must earn its way back to the table”.

Solution

To end North Korea's disruptive behavior, the US and other nations should firmly support Taiwan's Charter for Permanent Peace to lead China to democratize and end its support of Pyongyang. According to the Democracy index there are 50 nations still under the yoke of autocratic dictators. All democracies should back Taiwan's drive for constitutional reform to achieve greater democracy andfreedom. This would inspire China's 1.4 billion people to seek democratization of the CCP and pressure North Korea to adopt democracy as well, leading to the birth of world peace.
